Marvin A. Wuthrich Jr., 76, of Brodhead, left this world on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 just as he would have wanted: peacefully at home, watching TV, in his favorite “attire.” Those who know him will understand exactly what that means! Known to many as Marv or Mikey. Marvin was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, on August 29, 1949, to the late Marvin Wuthrich Sr. and June (Pahl) Brown. Marvin married the love of his life, Jodi Johnson, on October 8, 1988. Together, they shared nearly 38 years of marriage, countless memories, and plenty of laughter.

Marvin spent more than 30 years working as a heavy machine operating engineer and was a proud member of Local 139. He loved teaching his children and grandchildren how to operate and drive the machines, passing along not only his knowledge but also his passion for the work. For many years, Marvin also served as a judge for Tug of War competitions, both locally and internationally. He was also a beloved school bus driver for several school districts. Many families, students, and athletes will remember him as the “crazy bus driver” who could often be found swinging his broom to “sweep away” the competition while proudly supporting his team. It was just one of the many ways Marv made sure nobody forgot him. Marvin loved hunting, fishing, and cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. He enjoyed landscaping his yard, collecting coins, collecting guns and ammunition, and playing the accordion. One of his favorite places was the cabin in Big Flats, Wisconsin.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Jodi Wuthrich; his three children, Traci (Tim) Peters, Teri (Scott) Fruin, and Travis (Ashley Engle) Wuthrich; grandchildren Nicholas (Cori) Peters, Savannah Peters (Clinton Buck), and Amzi Fruin; great-grandson Weston Peters; and one great-grandson on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Wuthrich; nephew, Tyler Wuthrich; as well as many extended family members and close friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts and uncles, and his beloved fur babies, Miller and Patches. He is now reunited with many of his old buddies who went before him. Well, the gang is back together, and stirring up trouble already no doubt.

He was a big man with an even bigger heart, and never seemed to run out of stories, jokes, or a good opportunity to tease someone. But above all, Marvin was most proud of being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and the memories, laughter, and stories he leaves behind will keep his spirit alive for generations to come.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Orfordville American Legion, 3913 WI-213, Orfordville, WI 53576.
