Brodhead, WI – Ronald Ray Albrecht, Age 94 of Brodhead died on July 28,2026. He was born in Menomine, MI on April 25, 1932. The son of the late Raymond and Catherine Albrecht.
Ron graduated from Pestigo High School where he lettered in Tennis and football. He joined the U.S Navy and served from 1951-1955. He married Jocelyn Wessley on April 28, 1956 at Marinette, WI. He graduated from Marinene County Teachers College. He also graduated from UW La Crosse with a Bachelors degree, from UW Milwaukee with a Masters degree, from UW Madison with a Educational Specialist Degree. He taught at Wausaukee, WI for one year, at Portage WI for two years, and for two years at Random Lake, WI as the building principal and 8th grade teacher. He was a K-8 principal for three years at Brodhead and the K-5 principal for 28 years at Brodhead. They named the elementary school after him.
I feel that the Albrecht Elementary School was named after all of the great students, teachers, parents, board members and administrators that we have. You are the Best!
His favorite saying was “Kindness Matters”. He was a member of the Americal Legion. He was past president of the Green County Cancer Society, Brodhead Lions Club and the Brodhead Area Foundation. He enjoyed their cabin a Big Lake Chetac by Birchwood, WI.
He loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, including his three children Pat (Jon) Kuehl of Brodhead, Nanette Thompson of Brodhead and John (Lori Batt) Albrecht of Brodhead. Four grandchildren, Chris Kuehl and Megan (Kanen) Smith, Aaron and Jason Thompson and four wonderful great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, son in law Doug Thompson, two brother in laws and a sister in law.
Memorials can be made to the family of Ronald R. Albrecht to which the family will then donate them to the Albrecht Elementary School in Brodhead, WI.
