Fritz F. Friedly, age 97, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2026 at his home. He was born November 16, 1928, on his home farm in Spring Grove Township to C.W. Friedly and Margaret (Schneider) Friedly, the 5th of 10 children.
He graduated 8th grade from Shanghai School and was confirmed at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Monroe WI. He married Lois Reasa on August 3rd, 1951 and they had 2 daughters, Linda Wahl and Peggy Niedermeier.
Fritz was a Cheesemaker at Golden Rod Creamery, also worked at GM, Janesville, and Phillips and Smith Furniture, Monroe. Then farmed the rest of his life on a dairy farm outside of Brodhead where he then retired in 1994. He also served in the Wisconsin National Guard.
Fritz and Lois took many trips in the US and abroad and loved spending time together. They frequently went dancing on weekends.
His wife Lois passed away August 1st 2018, and Daughter Linda Wahl April 30, 2021
Fritz is preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters and Brothers, Margaret LeBeau, Walter Friedly, Bertha Chesnut, Lucille Brooks, Robert Friedly and Janet Zettle.
He is survived by his Daughter Peggy (Don) Niedermeier, Grandsons Daniel Wahl, Brad (Jill) Niedermeier, and Bryan (Krystynn) Niedermeier; Great Grandsons Blake, Carter, Kolyn and Kalyb Niedermeier and Myk Moreno; a Great Granddaughter Ryley Moreno; Sisters, Helen Brooks, Beverly Klopfenstein and Brother Ralph Friedly and many Nieces and Nephews.
The family of Fritz will be have a visitation in his honor on Friday, August 14, 2026 from 11AM – Noon at the DL Newcomer Funeral home in Brodhead, WI. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation.
