Stanley Schmitz passed away on August 28, 2026 at the SSM Hospital in Monroe, WI surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 8, 1945 in Avon Township, WI to parents Russell and Alice Schmitz.
He loved motorcycling with Jennie, his friends and family across the country. He liked to listen to the oldies with a cold beer in his hand. When he wasn’t riding, he was readying, fishing, hunting, snow mobiling or water skiing, and liked to teach others how to water ski as well.
Stanley is survived by son Stan (Kari) Schmitz Jr.; grandsons Dalton Schmitz and Reece (Aaliyah) Schmitz; great grandchildren Islea Schmitz, Leeds and Leland Schmitz; sisters Phyllis (Albrecht) Atkison and Marice (Lyle) Crum
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Florice; brother Roger and his forever love Jennie Schmitz.
Stanley was a dedicated family man who was always there to help those in need. Proud US ARMY Veteran, Bronze Service Star, Sharp shooter medal and Good Conduct Medal.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Terry Crum for all the help with dad before his passing.
Memorial services for Stanely will be held at the DL Newcomer Funeral home in Brodhead, WI on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11AM. The visitation will start at 9AM and go until the memorial service begins.
