
Shirley Christman passed away on Aug. 22, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 19, 1938, the daughter of Sam & Helen (Kuhl) Stoneback.
She grew up on a farm near Juda, WI and graduated from Juda High School in 1956.
She married Charles Christman on January 26, 1960.
Shirley retired in 1998 from the U.S. Postal Service in Brodhead, Wi after serving 21 years as a Rural Letter Carrier. She truly enjoyed her job and her customers. She was the first lady President of the Rural Letter Carriers Union from Lafayette-Green counties. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Brodhead, where she helped when and where she was able.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Granddaughter Sarah Anderson and Great Granddaughter Claire Anderson both of Brodhead. She is also survived by 3 step-brothers, who were like brothers to her, Darrell (Eunice) Clark, Albany, Roger Clark, Monticello, and Dennis (Sharon) Clark of Monroe. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Father & Mother, her step-mother, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, her beloved daughter, Lori and her beloved son Sam, whom she missed terribly and now will join them all.
A graveside service for Shirley will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 10AM. A small visitation for gathering will starting half an hour before at 9:30AM until graveside begins.
