G. Philip Hamilton, 88, of Evansville, Wis., passed away at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Phil was born on Sept. 15, 1937, in the town of Magnolia to the late Frank and Georgiana (Madden) Hamilton. After high school, Phil enlisted in the Navy. On May 29, 1959, at the Evansville Baptist Parsonage, Phil married Betty Odegaard. Phil worked for 46 years at Varco Pruden, retiring in 2004. Phil was a past member of the Evansville School Board, Porter Town Board, President of the Rock County Town-ship Association, CESA 8 Board Member, Evansville Fire Board Member, a member of the American Legion, and active on many committees and boards at the Cooksville Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer, beekeeper, and maker of maple syrup. He cared deeply for his friends, family and com-munity.

is survived by his wife, Betty Hamilton; children, Karl (Robin) Hamilton, Kristi (Paul Goldschmidt) Hamilton, and Matthew (Chris) Hamilton; grandchildren, Ian (Tejé) Carter Hamil-ton, Courtney, Emma, Grace, and Philip; sib-lings, David Hamilton, Darrell (Jenean) Hamilton, and Francette Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Kathy Hamilton, Suzy (Ron) Zweifel, and Ann Maynard; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Diane) Odegaard and David (Lucie) Ode-gaard; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alex, Roger, and Jack Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Diane and Mary Hamilton; and brother-in-law, Joe Maynard.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat-urday, April 11, 2026, at the Cooksville Lutheran Church with Pastor Eliza-beth Lipke-Ganzel offici-ating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Ward-Hurtley Funeral Homes is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, me-morials may be made in Phil’s name to Agrace Hospice.
