Christine K. Withrow “Grandma Rader,” age 78 from Brodhead passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at SSM Health Hospital in Monroe. She was born on August 14, 1947 the daughter of Donald and Thelma (Kail) Peters. Christine graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1965 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science in Respiratory Care. In 1992 Christine married the love of her life Sherrell “Pug” Withrow. She dedicated her career to helping others as a Respiratory Therapist, working at hospitals in both Rockford and Beloit. Christine was a devoted member of St. Rose Catholic Church, as well as the ABATE Club and the Red Hats.
Christine is survived by her children, Kenneth (Rebecca) La Fleur of Henderson, NV and Donna Schultz of Freeport, IL; step-son, Michael Schultz of Lake Geneva; 10 grandchildren; and siblings, Connie (Rick) Austin of Brodhead, Sheri Meligan of Juda, and Jeffrey (Stacey) Peters of Kenosha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Mike Peters; grandson, Cody Rader; and brother-in-law, James Meligan.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Everson Funeral Home. Interment will take place in West Virginia at Huse Memorial Park & Mausoleum next to her husband.
