(Lombardian, Feb. 17) It’s not quite Cruise Nights season yet, but that didn’t stop a group of car enthusiasts from gathering on Saturday, Feb. 14, in a parking lot near the former Joann’s Fabrics and David’s Bridal stores on Roosevelt Road in Lombard. The event was sponsored by Metal Militia Motor Club, which organizer Daniel Franklin said was formed on July 4, 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I decided to start doing social-distance car meets,” he explained of the club’s origin.
