FOOTVILLE- Shirley Mae (Parmer) Lee, age 72, died peacefully on December 29, 2025. She was born on April 19, 1953 in Monroe, WI – daughter of Lillian and Wilbur Parmer. Shirley grew up living the farm life alongside her five siblings, an upbringing which shaped her strong will and caring heart.

She married Dennis Lee on February 21, 1976. Together they had two children, Dennise Michelle and Douglas Arthur, whom she loved very much.

Shirley enjoyed helping others by caring for their children and loved ones, and many of those children held a special place in her heart. She had a true love for baking and was well known for her “sweet treats” and homemade soups. If you stopped by for a visit, there was almost always something warm and delicious waiting for you.

She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. On Wednesdays during Lent, the comforting smell of Shirley’s homemade soups filled the air while the Pastor preached his sermon. Shirley definitely had a special gift for spreading love through food.

Dennis and Shirley belonged to a camping group called Rocky Rollers. They enjoyed camping with friends and created many wonderful memories while traveling to different places. Dennis and Shirley loved taking their grandchildren camping with them. Many laughs were made around the campfire making “pudgie pies”

Shirley’s faith in Jesus Christ, our Savior, kept her hope alive throughout her life.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Dennise (Pat) McGoff; her grandchildren Michaela Hackett, (Rowan Hackey), Easton Hackett, Kennedy Lee, Kaden Lee, Ledgor McGoff, and Leah McGoff; her sister Mary (Randy) Olson, her brother Roger Parmer, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Lee; her parents Lillian and Wilbur Parmer; her brothers Don and Gerald Parmer; her sister Diane Schwartz; and her son Douglas Lee.

We would like to thank Shirley’s friends and family who made her life so enjoyable. A special thank-you to her sister Mary for helping with everything, and to her dear friend Peggy for being by her side during this difficult time.
