
Brodhead – Carol Lynn Meythaler, age 82, passed away on January 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1943, in Monroe, to Edward and Amy Burkhalter.
Carol graduated from Brodhead High School in 1961. She married Robert Meythaler on October 17, 1961, at West Luther Valley Church, Beloit, WI. Carol worked for Albany locker as a meat cutter; she also worked as a file clerk for the Monroe Clinic. She enjoyed gambling, playing cards with her friends and family, going out to eat, gardening, and watching the Brewers and the Bucks. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Carol also loved to travel with her friends and family.
Carol is survived by her husband of 64 years; Robert Meythaler, son; Mark (Casey) Meythaler, 5 grandchildren; Billy (Selyna) Sangermano, Justin (Kiersten) Sangermano, Claire, Riley, Becker Meythaler, 1 great grandson; Blake Sangermano and another on the way, sisters-in-law; Janice (Dean) Markee and Elaine (Sam) D’Amore, longtime friend; Vickie Caple, many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; daughter; Amy Sangermano, brother; Rodney (Ann) Burkhalter, sisters; Iva (Rollie) Scoville, Dona (Melvin) Mauerman, brother-in-law; Daryl (Tiny) Meythaler.
Private family graveside services will be held.
