Rita M Luedy 81 of Albany, WI passed away at the SSM Health-Monroe Clinic Hospital December 24th surrounded by loved ones, wrapped in the care and presence of family she devoted her life to.
She was born on July 6, 1944, in Monroe, WI to John and Charlene Schwartzlow.  She graduated from Monticello High School in 1962, going on to marry her devoted partner of 63 years Edwin R. Luedy, July 14, 1962.
After raising her family, she worked for years at Advance Transformer in Monroe, WI and WPS in Madison, WI.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Family was the center of her life, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time together.  Whether it was a holiday, sporting event, a simple visit at home, singing on a car ride, or just being in the same room together, her love showed up in countless quiet ways. She made sure everyone always felt seen and cared for.
She took pride in the holidays and loved gathering with her family to bake Christmas cookies, where playing Christmas music was always a requirement.  She also loved to sing, crochet, read books, play sudoku, and put together jigsaw puzzles.  She loved to keep her mind busy and remembered everything.  She was the go-to for family history and memories.
She is survived by her husband Edwin R. Luedy of Albany, WI.  Their four children Tod (Kelly) Luedy, Daneen (Ron) Johnson, Brenda (Todd) Brewer, all of Albany, WI, as well as Cory Luedy of Evansville, WI. She was blessed with 11 living grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren with 2 on the way.  Brothers Kent Schwartzlow and Greg (Jeanne) Schwartzlow of Monticello, WI, as well as sister-in law Janet Hauge of Albany, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Charlene Schwartzlow of Monticello, WI, father and mother-in-law Ralph and Helen Luedy of Albany, WI, sister, Susan Visger of Footville, WI and beloved grandson Lucas Brewer of Albany, WI who we’re sure she is glad to have her hands wrapped around once again.
