Davis — Juanita “Dede” Leatherman Woelky passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025. Dede was born April 1, 1945 in Muskegon, Michigan to Victor and Dorothy Leatherman.

She graduated in 1963 from East High School, Rockford, Illinois. She went on to have a successful career in the insurance industry. She retired in 2012 from WMS Manny Ins. Dede was part owner in Camlin Insurance. Dede loved volunteer work. She was a member of CASA, past President of Stepping Stones of Rockford, tutored for the Literacy Council, Member of Big Brother Big Sisters organization, and was on the Foster Care Review Board of the State of Arizona Supreme Court.

Dede is survived by love of her life, Bob Woelky, Nephew Aaron (LeeAnn) Leatherman, Nieces Deb (Gary) Gatrell, Dawn Marie, Kris Leatherman, Kathy Stelmachowske, Step children, Alex (Kimberly) Woelky, Curt (Angie) Woelky and Theresa (Brad) Klemm, Grandchildren Braedon, Owen, Ashton, Westin, Cooper, Sadie, and Elsie. Predeceased by siblings, Jim, Karen Rae, Judy, Dale, Marv and parents.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., with a Memorial Ceremony to follow at 12:00 p.m. in Durand United Methodist Church, 102 East Main Street, Durand, IL with Pastor Brenda Morris officiating. Cremation Rites were Accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home – Durand Chapel assisted the family.
