Brodhead, WI – Beverly Eunice Curtis, age 78, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025 while surrounded by her family at home after fighting a brief illness.
Beverly was born in Laona, WI to Arthur and Eunice Knoke on November 20, 1947. She graduated from Crandon high School, while working at the local motel as a maid. Shortly after high school she moved to Rheinlander where she started working at Red Dot. Red Dot is where she met Clyde Curtis. They married on February 3, 1967. Beverly went to work for Army & Ammunitions in Freedom, WI when they moved to the area before they settled in Brodhead, WI in 1972, where they have been lifelong residents. Beverly was a homemaker and also worked for the Janesville Gazette as the local newspaper lady from 1984-1986. Beverly returned to the workforce at Swiss Colony from 1987 to April 2002. After retirement and helping raise their grandkids, Beverly could be seen working at the Independent Register, Brodhead Elementary school from 2006-2021, and the DL Newcomer Funeral home from 2015-2025. Beverly was an avid reader, crochet for making blankets and towels, and canning from the garden. She loved baking and taking treats to neighbors, friends, and coworkers. She enjoyed her “Thelma & Louise” trips with her daughter and granddaughters, camping, many trips with Clyde and visiting family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Clyde Sr.; three children Clyde Jr (Amy) of Whitewater, WI, John (Pam) of Janesville, WI, and Kimberly (Jason) Carlisle of Madison, WI; seven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; her brother Kenneth and lots of precious nieces, nephews and friends that seem like family.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brothers.
In keeping with Beverly’s wishes there will not be services or a funeral. The family will be having a private celebration of life in the spring. We would like to thank the BAEMS, Fire Dept. and Agrace staff especially Nurse Ken and the neighbors, we could not have brought mom home at the end without you.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests no flowers at this time.
