Joyce Arnsmeier, age 86, of Brodhead Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, with friends and family by her side, at Autumn Lake Nursing Home on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1939 in Beloit Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Ray and Opal (Weaver) Elliott. Joyce married Lowell Arnsmeier on February 22, 1958 at the Zion Church in Juda, Wisconsin.
Joyce was a crafty gal, turning pieces of material into beautiful quilts and ceramics into Christmas items, lawn items, flower pots, and so much more. She also was an avid crocheter, making numerous afghans and pot holders. She was a very giving person, as her quilts, ceramics, afghans, and pot holders are being enjoyed by all of our family and friends. She received joy when the family would gather around her, as the grandkids and great-grandkids would share their stories and adventures of the day. Her dog, Lilo, was a big part of her life, and she so loved that dog. She also loved going thrifting and to garage sales – looking for treasures she always said she didn’t need, but that someone might! Joyce and Lowell drove truck for many years cross country. Joyce was his navigator, and to this day, she could tell you where each road would lead and which truck stops had the best pie.
She is survived by her children: Tim (Lynn) Arnsmeier of Beloit, Wi; Penny Cook of Brodhead, WI; and Todd (Staci) Arnsmeier of Brodhead, Wi; her nine grandchildren: Aaron Arnsmeier; Alyssa Arnsmeier -Davis; Ricky Coplien; Danielle Coplien; Jessica Arnsmeier; Justin Arnsmeier; Joshua Arnsmeier; Jake Arnsmeier; and Jenessa Arnsmeier-Schneider; 17 great-grandchildren; her three sisters and brother: Evelyn (Dick) Schwartzlow; Chuck (Vicki) Elliott; Deb (Dave) Anderson; and Barb McCarty; as well as her very special friends Rod and Mary Westendorf. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Lowell), sons (Rodney and Ricky), granddaughter (Jamie), sister (Wanda Church), brothers (Donald, Clayton and Tilton Elliott).
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Autumn Lake Nursing Home in Beloit, Wi and Beloit Hospice for all of their care and support.
